About

Daughter of a cartoonist/graphic designer/magician and a photographer/conference planner, Heather grew up in a magical Craftsman-style house filled with antique giant cowboy movie posters and a Coke-a-Cola bottle machine in the kitchen in Sacramento, CA. She had many familiars (pets) as a child, including fish, turtles, birds, hamsters, a crayfish, 2 bunnies that replicated into 16 hopping around the yard freely, and eventually a Golden Retriever puppy. Dance was a huge part of Heather’s life at a young age and what she learned about rhythm and movement through dance has made an impression on her style of illustration and filmmaking.

Heather attended film school at Long Beach State in Southern California, where she met her husband. They worked in the film industry in the heart of Hollywood for several years and adopted a dog they named Indiana Jones. After missing family and seasons, they ended up moving back up north. Together they started a production company in 2015. In the midst of building their company, they built and lived in a 24ft tiny house on wheels.

After the arrival of their son, Heather’s title changed from Creative Director to Director of Activities for the household and Mama. She cocooned in the early years of motherhood and re-emerged into the world of creativity as an illustrator after spending much of her time joyfully reading hundreds of children’s books to her son. She is excited to be able to bring that joy to other children with her own artwork. Heather and her family now reside in what is affectionately known as the Fairie Forest in Grass Valley, CA.
